Belonging
God
created every part of who we are. God knows what is in our hearts and
minds because God placed it there when we were created. God’s diverse
humanity is sometimes difficult for humans to comprehend. At
times, our diverse gifts from God can be a barrier. We sometimes
struggle to understand experiences of people who are different from us.
This and can create unintentional but significant barriers in our
relationships that obstruct our call to share God’s good news.
Grace’s
Diversity, Equity, Inclusivity, and Belonging team has identified 4
focus areas: Age, Race, LGBTQIA+, and Disability with a goal of becoming
a Reconciling in Christ (RIC) Church. RIC’s
vision is to keep expanding welcome, liberating those who are forced to
live in the margins, dismantling barriers and building bridges until
all of God's beloved have equity. Our mission is to help every body to understand that they are fully known and fully loved by God, and to strive to we love one another more completely.
