Dear friends, Our bags are packed and the medical team is prepared to board the plane to Nicaragua. Many of the suitcases barely zip they are so packed with goods to give away to those in need. Thank you all so much for the many medicines and vitamins that many of you donated for the trip. Our medical team is excited to bring health care to the rural communities where the Nicaraguan Ministry of Health sends us. Saturday is a full day of travel for the team. Sunday we hope to attend church at a small Lutheran church in Managua. We also hope to have lunch with a local family, in their home.
Our destination after church and lunch will be the orphanage in the mountains of Jinotega. Joy Pulsifer, the missionary that runs the orphanage, and the children, anxiously await our arrival. I am attaching a copy of Joy and the children. The orphanage will be our home base during our time in Nicaragua. On Sunday we have many hours of work to package medications and put on labels before our first clinic on Monday.
Thank you to all the family and friends of Grace Lutheran church who have made this trip possible.
On behalf of the team,
Celeste & Brian Newcomb Team Leaders
