Jesus loves the LITTLE children, and so do we!
The Grace Lutheran Church nursery is located on the upper level of the building, down the hallway and around the corner from the church sanctuary. It features natural sunlight and artificial light on cloudy days, air conditioning, toddler-sized restroom facilities, age-appropriate toys, preschool videos, and caring and loving caregivers in a secure environment.
The nursery is staffed on Sunday mornings by Grace volunteers from 8:45 to 11:45 a.m. They provide a loving, caring atmosphere in the nursery.
The nursery is also staffed September – May on Super Wednesdays, 6:15-7:15 p.m.
Grace also provides childcare during many of its adult education classes and large group events.
The congregation welcomes new babies at the time of birth or adoption by
Placing a red rose on the altar on Sunday morning to recognize and celebrate the new birth/adoption;
Offering praise and thanks to God for the newly born/adopted child during the Prayer of the Church;
Presenting a “New Baby/Baptism” bag during a home visit by one of our pastoral staff members
Delivering supper(s) to the family as needed;
Following up on the special concerns of each family as they seek to raise their child in the Christian faith.
As members of the family of Jesus Christ — the Christian Church — we rejoice each time a new baby is born and baptized into the Christian faith. When we are baptized, God says, “Come right in — You’re home!” Baptism is our chance to be in God’s family here on earth. In fact, God loves us very much even before we are baptized. In baptism, God tells all the people in the world about that love.
If your baby has not yet been baptized, please contact Pastor Lynn to discuss the Sacrament of Holy Baptism.
Young children of Grace,
“Come right in — you’re home!”
