Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the lands!
Serve the LORD with gladness!
Come into his presence with singing!

Adult Choir

Our adult choir, led by its new director, Jayne Glocke, will begin new in January and is looking for singers. Rehearsals will be on Wednesdays starting January 10, from 7:30-9:00pm in the sanctuary, as well as at 10:00am Sundays in the choir room (beneath the Sanctuary). Sunday, January 28, will mark the return of the Adult Choir’s weekly participation in the 10:30am service.

Jayne Glocke has been a member of Grace Lutheran Church for 20+ years, and brings almost 40 years of experience directing public school and university level choirs to the position. She has been on the choral faculty of the PSU School of Music for 19 years and has directed the PSU Chamber Singers and Women’s Chorale. Currently, Jayne is the director the PSU Oriana Singers and Campus Choir.

Although singers of all ability levels are welcome, we are especially looking for singers who have had previous choral experience and/or read music.  If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Jayne at: jpg9@psu.edu .

Bell Choir

The Bells of Grace, directed by Anna Carol Buffington

The Bells of Grace is an adult bell choir that is open to all levels of experience.  We rehearse on Sundays immediately after the end of the 10:30 am service, with occasional changes in rehearsal time to Sunday evenings at 7 p.m. in the Sanctuary.

We also offer an opportunity for children to ring via our Sing ‘n Ring Choir, which meets on Super Wednesdays from 5 – 5:45 p.m. in the choir room (below the Sanctuary).

Organ

Grace is blessed with a Casavant Organ with 33 ranks and 2048 pipes. June Miller and Pat Lloyd serve as organists.

Psalm 151

Psalm 151 is our praise band that leads the 6:00 p.m. Worship Service. They rehearse on Sunday Evenings at 4:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary. Please contact Anne Sullivan for more information.

Special Music

Soloists, instrumentalists, and small groups are sought regularly to provide liturgically appropriate music for 9 and 10:30 am Sunday services and occasional parish events.  Special music is planned, scheduled, and often rehearsed by Laurel Sanders, Worship and Music Coordinator.  The goal is to ensure all musical selections add inspiration to our worship and parish life and are reflective of the readings and messages for each season and service.  For more information, contact Laurel Sanders.

Youth Choir

“Crossfire,” Grace Lutheran’s youth choir, welcomes all students in grades 6-12 who love to sing! Our choir currently has approximately 15 singers and we rehearse from 10 – 10:30 on most Sunday mornings (after Sunday School, during coffee hour, between the 9 and 10:30 services) from mid-September through late spring. We sing approximately 6-8 times per year for the traditional Sunday services (typically at 10:30 and sometimes at 9) and we present one or two special programs each year, including an annual Lessons and Carols program and occasional staged productions that contribute to our parish life.  For details, contact Laurel Sanders at lsanders@glcpa.org .
